Noa's concert at "Ravenna Jazz" Festival (Italy)


La XXVI Edizione di "Ravenna Jazz", il festival più longevo d’Italia per continuità, promosso come sempre dall’Assessorato alla Cultura del Comune di Ravenna e dall’Associazione Polifonica, con la direzione artistica di Filippo Bianchi, si svolgerà dal 22 al 24 luglio nella suggestiva cornice della Rocca Brancaleone, antica fortezza veneziana, teatro all’aperto dall’eccellente acustica. Protagonisti della prima serata due quintetti dagli originali organici strumentali, Bill Frisell & The Willies e Rabih Abou-Khalil Group. In questo suo nuovo gruppo, il chitarrista americano Bill Frisell, nato a Baltimora nel ’51 e cresciuto a Denver, ha voluto al proprio fianco, oltre alla classica sezione ritmica, banjo e violino.

Per il terzo appuntamento, in fine, in calendario Noa e la sua Band...

Noa's concert in Taormina (Sicilia, Italy)


Taormina Arte '99 riapre il suo sipario su Messina. Una presenza tutt'altro che casuale, fortemente voluta dal comitato organizzatore, composto dal sindaco di Taormina, Mario Bolognari, dal presidente della Provincia, Giuseppe Buzzanca e dal sindaco di Messina, Salvatore Leonardi, con cinque grandi eventi che saranno ospitati nell'area della Fiera di Messina dell'ex Irrera a mare: un ritorno in un angolo della città che conserva la memoria delle prime, indimenticabili pagine del Festival cinematografico Internazionale di Messina e Taormina. Il cartellone messinese di Taormina Arte prevede cinque serate (dal 6 al 20 luglio) di grande richiamo che saranno guidate da due fili conduttori: il cinema, che anche quest'anno tornerà in città con la programmazione del nuovo direttore di TaorminaFilmFestival Felice Laudadio (24-31 luglio), al centro di due serate musicali dedicate alle grandi colonne sonore; e l'Orchestra del 'Vittorio Emanuele', che aprirà e chiuderà il cartellone messinese con due concerti, il primo con Noa ed il secondo con Lucio Dalla. Due grandi artisti internazionali che hanno accettato di confrontarsi sul palco, dal vivo, affidando il loro repertorio ai maestri dell'Orchestra del 'Vittorio Emanuele' di Messina.

Cantante y compositora cuyo nombre completo es Achinoam Nini, mejor conocida como Noa, nació en Israel, pero cuando sólo tenía un año, su familia se trasladó a Nueva York. A los ocho años comenzó a componer sus primeras melodías, y a los 17 decidió trasladarse a Israel. Años más tarde, su encuentro con el guitarrista y compositor Gil Dor, con quien empezó a trabajar un dúo acústico, fue decisivo en su carrera. Armaron revuelta en un escenario israelí cuando aparecieron en el mar Rojo, en el Festival Internacional de Jazz de Eliat, en 1990. Éste fue el punto de partida para su participación en numerosos festivales como el de Jerusalén, Du Mans y otros...

Noa's concert in Winnipeg (Canada)


Achinoam Nini, or Noa as she is better known to her fans around the world, made her Winnipeg debut on June 15 as the star of the second annual Jewish National Fund of Canada, Manitoba and Saskatchewan region, Negev Gala Concert.

In front of an audience of about 1,300 at Centennial Concert Hall, Noa sang in English and Hebrew, and played drums and other smaller instruments accompanied by backup musicians, Yaaki Levy (drums), Yorai Oron (bass), Gil Zohar (keyboard) and her longtime musical partner Gil Dor (guitars).

Ravinia's 64th summer season will feature some of today's biggest names in popular music including several Festival favorites, many legendary Chicago talents and eight Ravinia debuts. The season opens with Israeli vocal sensation Noa (June 14), and stylish crooner Chris Isaak (June 22). A special holiday weekend concert brings the Neville Brothers and Little Feat to the Pavilion (July 3), while singer/songwriter Caetano Veloso makes a rare United States appearance and his Chicago debut (July 13).
